Rob Abbott

Rob Abbott is a pioneer, someone who can legitimately claim to be among the very first to explore – and use – new ideas. Over the past 30 years he has been in the front rank of corporate social responsibility thought and practice in Canada and abroad – as a certified management consultant, as a C-suite executive, and as a scholar-practitioner training business students nationally and internationally. He has also, crucially, undertaken the heroic quest to know himself as deeply as possible so that he might express his truest and most authentic Self.

From an initial focus on bridging the gap that too often separates CSR from competitive strategy, Rob has evolved his practice to focus on coaching individuals, especially those in leadership positions, on the necessity of “inner work” as a prerequisite for any external attempts to transition global society to a more sustainable trajectory. He is especially skilled working with men to release old patterns of masculine expression predicated on control, domination and victim energy – the better to make way for a new expression that is clear, supportive and loving.

A Certified Management Consultant as well as a ICF accredited Coach, Rob brings a holistic, compassionate and inventive approach to coaching individuals and teams through the terrain of the personal and the professional.

In addition to his work with Abbott Strategies, Rob is a member of the counselling team at Wholeness Psychology Centre, an interdisciplinary practice focused on mind, body, heart and spirit.
